DESCRIPTION:The Level 4 Diploma in Permanent Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation (QCF) will provide you with the understanding and skills to provide permanent hair reduction for all hair types. Darker hair can be treated using intense light and laser systems\, whilst lighter hair can be treated using electrical epilation. This qualification will also provide you with the skills to treat skin imperfections and to rejuvenate the skin using intense pulsed light systems\, advanced epilation or microdermabrasion. You will gain a deeper understanding of the physiology of ageing and you will also focus on the management of client care and health and safety in the salon.\nStudents have the option to take units as individual courses. Students can also use previous qualifications as exemptions towards the full Diploma.\n Certification\nVTCT Level 4 Diploma in Permanent Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation\n\n \n\nEntry Requirements\n\nLevel 2 Beauty Therapy or equivalent\n\nLevel 3 Electrolysis (required by insurance companies)\n\nAssessment\n\nFor practical elements you will be observed by your assessor.  All your work must be collected in a portfolio of evidence and cross referenced to requirements listed in your Assessment Book.  An Internal Verifier will check your assessments to ensure evidence is valid.  A VTCT External Verifier will sample observations and portfolios. Practical observations will be assessed as per unit listed above.  Evidence of knowledge will be assessed through assignments.\n\nCourse Requirements\n\n \tStudents must wear a white tunic and black trousers to every class\n \t2 x White bath towels\, 2 x Black handtowels (not included in fees)\n \tStudents must have their own supply of disposable head bands\, couch roll\, cotton\, facial sponges and tissues\, camera for photographic evidence.\n\n \n\nCourse Content\n\n \tCertificate in Laser/IPL\n \tCertificate in Microdermabrasion\n \tCertificate in Advanced Epilation - Advanced Cosmetic Procedures\n\n \n\n1. Certificate in Laser/IPL\n\nThis is a vocationally related qualification and is focused on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using Intense Pulse Light and Laser Treatments. You will identify hair and skin conditions and those clients suitable for Intense Pulse Light and Laser system treatments. Training will be delivered using Laser and IPL equipment.\nLaser hair removal has become a lucrative business nowadays. This is because people prefer the process for removing their bodily hairs due to its painlessness\, effectiveness and expediency.\nThe regulatory body states that all therapists wishing to carry out Laser or IPL treatments must have the NVQ/VRQ Level 4 qualification by 2016. Certificate in Advanced Skin Blemish Removal\nLearn the skills involved in carrying out providing advanced electrical epilation techniques to treat skin tags\, telangiectasia\, spider naevi and blood spots. You will also need to carry out a thorough consultation with the client\, formulate an individual treatment plan and provide the relevant treatment advice. To carry out this unit you will need to maintain effective health\, safety and hygiene procedures throughout your treatment.\nCourse Duration: 11 Days\nJanuary: 22nd & 23rd\n\nFebruary: 4th\, 5th\, 11th\, 12th\, 13th\, 18th\, 19th\, 20th\, 25th\n\n \n\n \n\nInsurance\n\nThe Academy has secured insurance for all successful candidates with a reputable UK based insurance company.  With upcoming changes to Insurance\, it is recommended by some regulatory bodies’ that therapists wishing to perform IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) / Laser therapies should achieve a Level 4 qualification by 2016.  Insurance companies require a Level 3 Beauty qualification and the Level 4 Certificate in Laser & IPL to be eligible for insurance cover.
