DESCRIPTION: \n\n \nCourse Details\nThe Certificate in Education and Training is a qualification designed to enable you to develop practical teaching skills.  This qualification has been mapped to the relevant National Occupational Standards and is accredited on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and QQI Ireland.\n\nThis course is suitable for those who wish to begin a career in teaching in Beauty\, Hairdressing or Barbering.  Our course is very different to other teaching courses as the emphasis is on the practical elements of teaching.  This course will enable you to design and teach courses in your area of expertise.\nWhere does the training take place?\nTheory through online tutorials and 3 days classroom based.  Learners will prepare for their teaching practice sessions in the classroom and will be assessed by your tutor during their work placement.  All material for your qualification will be uploaded to an E Learning platform. This can be accessed from anywhere. All assignments and teaching observations  will be submitted through E portfolio.\n\nOnce payment has been made\, instructions will be sent on how to access the course online.  Learners must have a certain amount of tutorials and assignments completed before the classroom based training.  Please note no refunds can be made once the online material has been accessed.\nEntry Requirements: \nThere are no formal pre requisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification.  You must have relevant qualifications and commercial experience in the area you wish to teach.\n\nLearners must be computer efficient as the assessment material must be submitted through online portfolio.\nCourse Content\nUnit 1: Delivering Education and Training\nThe aim of this unit is to enable you to use inclusive teaching and learning approaches in accordance with internal processes and external requirements\, to communicate with learners and to evaluate own delivery practice. You will gain an understanding of how technology can enhance teaching and learning and covers expectations in relation to the minimum core in delivering inclusive teaching and learning.\nUnit 2 – Understand Roles\, Responsibilities & Relationships in Education & Training \nThe aim of this unit is to enable you to understand the role and responsibilities of a teacher in education and training and the relationship between different professionals within education and training.\nUnit 3: Assessing Learners in Education and Training\nThe aim of the unit is to enable you to use types and methods of assessment\, to conduct and record assessment in accordance with internal and external processes and requirements and to evaluate your own assessment practice. You will cover the expectations in relation to the minimum core in assessing learners in lifelong learning.\nUnit 4: Manage Learning and Development\nThe aim of this unit is to enable you to manage learning and development in groups. You are expected to understand the use of a variety of management methods\, for example motivational strategies\, behaviour management\, provision of advice as well as deliver strategies to facilitate learning. You are also expected to involve learners within groups in the learning and development process.\n Unit 5: Teaching in a Specialist Area\nThe unit aims to develop your knowledge and skills in relation to teaching in a specialist area. The specialist area may be a vocational or subject area. It includes consideration of the aims and philosophy of education and training in a specialist area and the aims and structure of key sector qualifications. It also includes curriculum issues\, inclusive teaching and learning\, and evaluating and improving your own practice in a specialist area.\nUnit 6 – Planning to Meet the Needs of the Learners \nYou will be able to agree individual learning goals with your learners\, to plan inclusive learning and teaching approaches in accordance with internal processes and external requirements and to evaluate your own practice in planning teaching and learning.\n\nAssessment\n\n \tPowerpoint presentation\n \tPractical demonstration in chosen area\n \tAssessment of learners\n \tAssignments\n \tTeaching Practice - 30 hours (15 hours teaching + 15 hours observing qualified tutor)\n\nProgression\nYou can progress directly into employment as a teacher in the further education sector\n\nOn completion you may choose to undertake further study:\n\n \tLevel 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement - graduates of the Level 4 Teaching course will be awarded exemptions towards this course (Reduced price €350)\n \tLevel 4 Certificate in Leading Internal Quality Assurance\n \tLevel 5 Diploma in Education and Training\n\nDuration: Completed in a 6 month period\n3 Days Classroom based\n\nCandidates must enrol before 15th September and submit Unit 1 assignment before the 6th October.  If the deadline is missed you will need to wait for the next course.\n\nDay One: Saturday 7th October 10-4\n\nDay Two: Saturday 11th November 10 -4\n\nDay Three: Sunday 10th December 10- 1\n\nTheory through online tutorials and classroom based.  Learners will prepare for their practical observations in the classroom and will be assessed during their work placement.  All assignments and portfolio work will be submitted through online portfolio.\nCourse Fees: €950\nFees must be paid in full on enrolment.  Access to online tutorials will be sent on payment.

DESCRIPTION:The VTCT Level 2 Award in Facial Massage and Skin Care (QCF) is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in; how to provide facial skin care. You will also develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification. The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in Aesthetic treatments to a high level of occupational ability\, to enable you to perform your own salon services.\n\nEntry Requirements\n\nThere are no formal pre requisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification.\n\n \tThe minimum age for entry to this course is 17 years – no exceptions. There is no upper age limit.\n• An excellent level of English is required.\n\n \n\nCourse Content\n\nProvide Facial Massage and Skincare\nIn this unit you will learn about maintaining and improving facial skin condition using exfoliation\, skin warming\, comedone extraction\, facial massage\, mask treatments and facial moisturising products. This unit is predominantly hands on working on different skin types and learning how to recommend products and future treatments.  All treatments are carried out using Image Skincare products.\n\nFollow health and safety practice in the salon \n\nThe aim of this unit is to increase your understanding of health and safety and its importance in the salon in which you work. You will develop the ability to carry out a simple risk analysis\, recognise a hazard\, responsibly deal with the hazards you have found and follow safe and hygienic working practices. You will also need to be able to locate fire fighting equipment\, first aid resources and have an awareness of fire\, emergency and evacuation procedures.\n\n Client care and communication in beauty-related industries\n\nThis unit is about client care and communication in beauty‑related industries. You will develop your communication skills to deal with consultations\, complaints\, client comfort and all forms of client care. You will develop a client‑centered approach to all your treatments.\n\n \n\nAssessment\n\nFor practical elements you will be observed by your assessor.  All your work must be collected in a portfolio of evidence and cross referenced to requirements listed in your Assessment Book.  An Internal Verifier will check your assessments to ensure evidence is valid.  A VTCT External Verifier will sample observations and portfolios. DESCRIPTION:This qualification is about the skills involved in assessing\, preparing for and carrying out electrical needle epilation treatments to remove hair using alternating current and blend techniques.\n\nYou will also need to show you can competently advise clients on the care needed after electrical epilation.  The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills as a beauty therapist or electrologist to enable you to provide electrical epilation treatments.\n\nCertification\n\nVTCT Level 3 Certificate in Epilation\n\nEntry Requirements\n\nLevel 2 Beauty Therapy or equivalent (required by insurance companies from next year)\n\n \n\nCourse Content\n\n \tHealth and safety\n \tClient care and communications\n\n\n \tProvide electrical epilation - Evidence Requirements – Competent performance must be demonstrated on six occasions treating facial hair\, bikini and underarm hair using Blend\, Galvanic and Short Wave Diathermy modalities.           \n\n \n\n \n\nAll Anatomy & Physiology is covered by pre requisite for the course however the Hair and Skin will be covered in further detail with assignments to confirm knowledge.\n\n \n\nAssessment\n\nFor practical elements you will be observed by your assessor.  All your work must be collected in a portfolio of evidence and cross referenced to requirements listed in your Assessment Book.  An Internal Verifier will check your assessments to ensure evidence is valid.  A VTCT External Verifier will sample observations and portfolios.
