DESCRIPTION:The VTCT Certificate in Assessing is a practical-based qualification intended for assessors who assess people working towards qualifications. An assessor is a person with the required knowledge and skills that determines whether a candidate is capable of doing the job at hand in their own particular field of expertise by collecting evidence.\nYour job would be to help make sure that learners meet all occupational standards needed to achieve their qualification. Your day – to – day tasks will depend on the type of assessments you carry out but could include: \n\nPlanning and delivering vocational training\nObserving and assessing candidates in a training centre or workplace\nSupporting learners with portfolios of evidence\nProviding feedback and support if the standards are not met\nKeeping records of progress\nLiaising with quality assurance staff\nManaging information relating to assessment\n\nEntry Requirements:\nTo become an Assessor you will need the following qualifications: \n\nTeaching qualification\nLevel 3 or higher qualification in the area of work you wish to assess\nCommercial experience in your area of expertise\n\nSkills and Qualities:\n\nExcellent communication skills\nAn interest in helping people develop\nThe ability to motivate and encourage people\nPatience and tact\nGood organisational skills\nA methodical approach to work\nGood record keeping and report writing skills\n\nCourse Content:\nUnit 1 \n\nUnderstand the principles and requirements of assessment\nTypes of assessment methods\nHow to plan assessment\n\nUnit 2 \n\nInvolve learners and others in assessment\nHow to make assessment decisions\nImportance of quality assurance\n\nUnit 3 \n\nImportance of feedback\nGood practice requirements in relation to assessment\n\nUnit 4 \n\nImportance of occupational competence\nImportance of Continual Professional Development\n\nUnit 5 \n\nReflection\nDeadlines\n\nProgression\nOnce you are qualified as an assessor you can become an Internal Verifier. You will need the following: \n\nLevel 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement\nExperience of assessing in the occupational area you will be verifying\n\nDuration: Completed in a 3 – 6 month period\nTheory will be delivered through online tutorial. Practical training will take place in your own training centre or via TEAMS. \nCourse Fees: €650\nFees must be paid in full on enrolment.  \nCourse Delivery\nTraining is delivered through blended learning of Zoom\, online presentations & assignments and practical based assessments. \nUpcoming Dates: \nTuesday 25th February

It provides the essential skills and knowledge to fulfill a teaching role. \nWhere Does the Training Take Place?\n\nTheory: Through 3 online tutorials.\nClassroom-based: 2 days. Learners prepare for teaching practice sessions and are assessed by tutors during work placements. All materials are uploaded to an E-Learning platform and can be accessed from anywhere. Assignments and teaching observations are submitted through an E-portfolio.\n\nEntry Requirements\n\nNo formal prerequisite qualifications required.\nLearners must be computer-efficient as assessment material is submitted online.\n\nCourse Content\nUnit 1: Understanding Roles\, Responsibilities\, and Relationships in Education and Training\n\nUnderstand the role and responsibilities of a teacher.\nExplore relationships between different professionals in education.\n\nUnit 2: Facilitate Learning and Development in Groups\n\nUnderstand group dynamics and facilitate learning in groups.\nUtilize various methods like presentation\, instruction\, demonstration\, small group activities\, e-learning\, and role plays.\n\nUnit 3: Assessing Learners in Education and Training\n\nUnderstand different types and methods of assessment.\nLearn ways to involve learners in assessment and the requirements for record-keeping.\n\nAssessment\n\nPractice: Minimum of 30 hours required with a minimum of 3 assessed observations.\nMicro Teaching Presentations\nAssessment of Learners\nAssignments\n\nProgression\nAfter completing this qualification\, learners can progress to: \n\nLevel 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement\nLevel 4 Certificate in Leading Internal Quality Assurance\nLevel 5 Diploma in Education and Training\n\nDuration\n\nOnline (10am – 3pm) : 22nd September\, 13th October\, 17th November\nOnsite(10am – 5pm) : 8th December & 5th January\n\nCourse Fees\n\nTotal: €1250\nBooking Deposit: Required to secure your place.
