SUMMARY:VTCT/ITEC Level 4 Award Core of Knowledge for Laser and Light Devices
DESCRIPTION:VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Core of Knowledge for Laser and Light Devices is a knowledge-based E – Learning qualification aimed at laser\, IPL and LED technicians\, who need to understand how to safely and professionally provide laser and light application treatments in the medical and aesthetics industry. \nThroughout this qualification\, learners will develop knowledge on the characteristics of laser\, IPL and LED radiation and skin tissue reaction to laser\, IPL and LED application. Additionally learners will cover hazards and precautions\, safety management\, safe product sourcing\, risk assessments\, quality assurance and relevant and associated legislation influencing the purchase and use of laser and light devices. Learners will also gain an understanding of the safe working practices required in order to protect themselves and their clients when applying laser and light devices. \n  \nENTRY REQUIREMENTS\nLevel 3 Beauty Therapy or equivalent  \nMedical practitioner – Dentist\, Doctor or Nurse  \nProficient in spoken and written English\, with particular emphasis on reading ability. \n  \nCOURSE CONTENT\n\n\n\nOn completion of this unit\, learners will: \nLO1 Comprehend laser safety legislation\, measures\, and management\nLO2 Comprehend risk assessments\, hazards\, and safety\nLO3 Comprehend laser and light technologies – (radiation and tissue interaction) \nYou will receive printable workbooks and slide transcripts.  The qualification is covered by \n\nSubjects are covered by 3 lessons. It is necessary to move progressively through each module as information in later modules may rely on an understanding of earlier sections.\nMultiple-choice assessments at the end of each section.  You must achieve 100% before moving onto the next lesson\n\n\n\n\nCOURSE DURATION\nThe course must be completed within a 3 month timeframe from booking.  The course typically takes 2 days to complete. \n\n  \nASSESSMENT\nTheory will be delivered through online tutorials.  All material for your qualification will be uploaded to an E Learning platform. This can be accessed from anywhere. You will have unlimited tutor support. \nA VTCT/ITEC external Theory Paper must be taken once all lessons have been completed.   \n  \nCOURSE FEES\n€295 payable on booking \nOnce payment has been made\, instructions will be sent on how to access the course online. Please note no refunds can be made once the online material has been accessed. \n  \nFUNDING OPPORTUNITIES\nThis qualification is listed by QQI on the National Framework\, and is eligible for TSG funding if you are in receipt of a Social Welfare payment.
