VTCT Level 3 Award in Education and Training

This qualification is perfect for those interested in pursuing a teaching career in further education or for those who have recently started teaching. It provides the essential skills and knowledge to fulfill a teaching role.

Where Does the Training Take Place?

• Theory: Through 3 online tutorials.
• Classroom-based: 2 days. Learners prepare for teaching practice sessions and are assessed by tutors during work placements. All materials are uploaded to an E-Learning platform and can be accessed from anywhere. Assignments and teaching observations are submitted through an E-portfolio.

Entry Requirements

• No formal prerequisite qualifications required.
• Learners must be computer-efficient as assessment material is submitted online.

Course Content

Unit 1: Understanding Roles, Responsibilities, and Relationships in Education and Training

• Understand the role and responsibilities of a teacher.
• Explore relationships between different professionals in education.

Unit 2: Facilitate Learning and Development in Groups

• Understand group dynamics and facilitate learning in groups.
• Utilize various methods like presentation, instruction, demonstration, small group activities, e-learning, and role plays.

Unit 3: Assessing Learners in Education and Training

• Understand different types and methods of assessment.
• Learn ways to involve learners in assessment and the requirements for record-keeping.

Assessment

• Practice: Minimum of 30 hours required with a minimum of 3 assessed observations.

Progression

After completing this qualification, learners can progress to:

• Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
• Level 4 Certificate in Leading Internal Quality Assurance
• Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training

• Online (10am – 3pm) : 22nd September, 13th October, 17th November
• Onsite(10am – 5pm) : 8th December & 5th January

• Booking Deposit: Required to secure your place. The balance can be paid in 4 instalments.
