Qualification Overview

The aim of this qualification is to develop learners’ knowledge, understanding, and practical skills in cosmetic skin needling techniques. It covers:

• Skills for conducting thorough consultations to determine client suitability.
• Formulating tailored treatment plans for individual client needs.
• Providing pre- and post-treatment advice and care.

Certification

Upon completion, learners receive the VTCT & ITEC Level 4 Award in Microneedling.

Entry Requirements

• Level 3 or higher Beauty Therapy qualification.

Course Content

Advanced Skincare for Non-Medical Aesthetic Therapies

• Understand the physiology of skin ageing.
• Advanced skin assessment techniques.
• Preparing for and providing advanced skin assessments.
• Cosmetic Skin Needling protocols.

Safety and Knowledge

• Safety considerations for skin needling treatments.
• Relevant anatomy, physiology, and pathologies.
• Consulting, planning, and preparing for treatments.

Assessment

Learners will be assessed through:

1. MCQ Theory Paper: Internal assessment.
2. Practical Examination: Conducted by an ITEC Examiner.
3. 6 x Clinical Case Studies: Carried out at the Academy under supervision.
4. Online Theory Exam: Core knowledge assessed online.

Course Duration and Schedule

Online: Self-paced, must start by 17th March.

Onsite Training Dates (10am – 5pm):

• 13th & 14th April
• 27th & 28th April

ITEC Practical & Theory Exam: Date to be confirmed.

• Deposit: €395 (balance can be paid in instalments).
